One day workshop and stakeholders meeting of KFW soil project to discuss the feasibility of KFW Soil projects implemented by NABARD and IRTC in Palakkad district was held on 4th September 2019 at IRTC Campus. Panchayat officials from different panchayats of Palakkad district, district coordinators of different Government departments, project facilitating agency representatives and watershed management officials had participated in the meeting.
The main objectives of the KFW Soil Project are to study the measurement of the negative impact of climate change that caused in the agriculture sector with special reference to 20 watersheds in Palakkad district and to nourish the agriculture sector by reducing impacts of climate change.
Palakkad District Panchayat President Adv. K. Shanthakumari inaugurated the workshop. Palakkad District Manager of NABARD Shri. Lalu P.N. presided over the function and IRTC Scientist Prof. B.M.Mustafa explained about the nature and functioning of the project. Subsequently, the representatives discussed the feasibility of combining different Government projects with KFW Soil projects. IRTC Registrar K.K.Janardhanan welcomed the gathering and Project Coordinator Sabu P.S. delivered the words of gratitude to the participants.
