The training program organized by IRTC's GIS & Remote sensing division has started from this morning (on 16th October). IRTC Director Dr Sreekumar inaugurated the three-day training program. Researchers and professionals from Kerala are participating in the training. IRTC Director Dr.S.Sreekumar gave an introductory presentation on the importance of GIS application and Remote Sensing.

GlS & Remote Sensing is a technology that can be of great help to many kinds of research and studies. This technology enables many years of learning to be completed in a relatively short time. Therefore, nowadays GlS & Remote Sensing technology has great importance, Dr.S.Sreekumar commented. "Currently Canada is at the forefront of using GIS & Remote Sensing technology. Today, India is among the top five countries in using GIS and Remote Sensing. In addition, the technology has been used to support social science research and studies."
R. Satish, Head of Natural Resources Management of IRTC, delivered the welcome speech. After the inaugural session IRTC faculty, Anand Sebastian explained about program schedule of the three-day training.
