Aquaculture and Fisheries

Welcome to Aquaculture Division We are worked under the Department of Fisheries Kerala. Here we are successfully running modern high-density fish farming practices like the RECIRCULATORY AQUACULTURE SYSTEM (AQUAPONICS) OF GIFT THILAPPIA & BIOFLOC system for Snake Head Murrel. And ornamental fish breeding. Related to RAS, we maintain a leafy garden with a wide variety of fish feeding plants. Waste recycling and an integrated model of aquaculture systems were being practiced. We are trying to answer the interesting but challenging questions like

  1. Challenges and problems in Modern Aquaculture
  2. How to reduce the cost of formulated pellet feeds through leafy plants
  3. Quality seeds and its Growth period
  4. Marketing strategy in Fish farming
  5. Integrated Aquaculture practices and its benefits
  6. Ornamental fish breeding and rearing unit with exhibition facility
  7. BSF Larvae production unit
